Bob Williams has owned his hearing aids since October, 2006. He likes them much better than the set he used for the previous six years. They work much better and now he can understand his grandsons and his wife much better. According to Bob, being able to hear well just makes life a whole lot better – like when a person puts on glasses and is able to see clearly. He firmly believes hearing aids have improved the quality of his life. “You don’t know what you’re missing until you can hear it,” said Bob. “I was missing out on things. I knew people were talking, but I didn’t know what they were saying.” Bob is an avid golfer who plays five days a week, and he also enjoys working in his woodshop. The 68-year-old enjoys golfing with his buddy even more now, and he doesn’t “run everyone out of the house” by having the TV turned up too loud. “I can tell there’s a real difference between my new hearing aids and my old ones,” said Bob. “There’s no whistling – they’re real top-of-the-line. I can tell they’re much better. And I’m really happy with Terry at All American Hearing.” All American Hearing provides real people like Bob, with real hearing solutions. Bob Williams
Doris purchased her hearing aids in April, 2005 and her ability to hear better has changed her life “a lot.” Now she can hear what people are saying without having to ask them to repeat themselves. Her hobbies include doing crossword puzzles, entering sweepstakes, taking care of her five grandchildren, watching TV and going on trips. Better hearing has allowed her to enjoy doing these things more. “I can hear my grandchildren better now, and when I go on a trip and they’re describing things, I can hear better,” said Doris. “I don’t miss what people are saying to me or what’s being said around me.” Doris didn’t realize she wasn’t hearing as well as she should have been until she received her hearing aids. She kept putting off getting help for her hearing loss, and her kids kept telling her, “Mom, you need to have your hearing checked.” “Go have your hearing checked out,” said Doris. “You’re missing out on a lot of what’s going on around you.” All American Hearing provides real people like Doris, with real hearing solutions. Harvey replaced his old analog hearing aids (one no longer worked) in September, 2006 and he’s found his new digital hearing aids do a much better job and are “very helpful.” He particularly appreciates the noise reduction compared to the old analog hearing aid technology. The 82-year-old goes ballroom dancing two to three times a week with his 95-year-old wife. Thanks to his new hearing aids, Harvey can better appreciate the five-piece band as it plays the music they both enjoy so much. “I’m not quite as prone to say, ‘huh?’ I can understand people in the backseat of the car better now,” said Harvey. “I can also understand better what’s going on around me. My hearing aids help me hear better through background noise.” Harvey’s ability to hear and comprehend is much better now, than with his old analog hearing aids. “I’d recommend All American Hearing,” said Harvey. “They seem to be good and they’re very helpful. My hearing aids seem to work quite well.” All American Hearing provides real people like Harvey, with real hearing solutions. Harvey B.
Jennifer received her hearing aids in January, 2006, and they’ve changed her life a lot. Now she can hear things that she couldn’t hear before. And although she knew she had a hearing loss, Jennifer’s hearing aids have really opened her eyes to what she was missing. Jennifer Christopherson
Larry purchased his hearing aids in January, 2006. Larry had been practically deaf most of his life and had only about 40 percent hearing with both ears. Analog hearing aids wouldn’t have worked for him, but his new digital hearing aids have given Larry a whole new life. Larry McConnaughey
Pat purchased her hearing aids in November, 2005. These are her first hearing aids and they help the 79-year-old by making it easier to hear people speak and hear what’s going on at church, in the car talking with others and at the movies. Thanks to her hearing aids, sounds come through more refined and she’s hearing sounds she couldn’t hear before. The best thing about having better hearing is that now Pat can hear her husband more clearly, and she can hear her friends better when they’re sitting around talking. “I do a lot of reading, decorative painting, and I carve small figurines,” said Pat. “I also enjoy hunting and fishing with my family, and I’ve been very successful with deer, elk, sheep and grizzly bear. Being out in the woods is so wonderful.” Pat does a lot of salmon fishing on Vancouver Island and now, talking in the boat with her family, it’s so much easier to hear. “Hearing loss is a slow process. One day you realize, ‘This isn’t right. I can do better with help,’” said Pat. “I had no idea what to expect when I got hearing aids, but I’m hearing sounds I didn’t hear before.” All American Hearing provides real people like Pat, with real hearing solutions. Dale has had his hearing aids since September, 2005 and his wife is a lot happier since he received them. Now, according to Dale, “She doesn’t have to wear cotton in her ears when we watch TV.” He enjoys riding motorcycles and bowling. He also likes riding tractors and his combine in harvest season. Thanks to his hearing aids, the 64-year-old farmer can hear things he hasn’t heard for a long time, although he didn’t realize he was missing out on some things. “It’s quite an improvement and I can hear better than I thought I’d be able to,” said Dale. “I can hear a lot of things now, and my wife doesn’t have to holler at me as much.” Dale delayed getting help for his hearing loss for several years, but his wife and daughters encouraged him to get his hearing checked – and he’s glad he did. He describes having the ability to hear better as “very rewarding.” “Being able to hear well makes a difference, a big difference,” said Dale. “I remember when I first got them, I heard birds clearly for the first time in a long time. I was impressed and I wear them all the time.” All American Hearing provides real people like Dale, with real hearing solutions. Dale Luthy
George purchased his hearing aid in October, 2006. He was diagnosed with diabetes 10 or 15 years before, and his hearing has steadily deteriorated. He only wears one hearing aid because he has hearing in just one ear. Although he’s had a couple of other hearing aids, his present one is the best. George appreciates that his wife doesn’t have to yell at him so much to be understood. She notices a big difference in his hearing. “If I pulled my hearing aid out of my ear, I wouldn’t be able to hear anything,” said George. And even though he’s 68 years old, George keeps busy by working on his brother-in-law’s acreage, helping to take down trees, move buildings on the property and work on the house. He also enjoys woodworking and his improved hearing helps him at work and at play. “If you’re thinking you might need hearing aids, don’t wait too long,” said George. “Once you realize a difference in your hearing, you better get them as soon as possible.” All American Hearing provides real people like George, with real hearing solutions. Jack purchased his hearing aids in November, 2005 and they help him hear better when he goes to church, theatrical events and other places where there are groups of people. Previously he had trouble hearing well in groups, and it seemed people were whispering and consonants were muffled. Jack, age 82, enjoys amateur theatre, swimming, biking and painting. He’s the director of a theatrical group in a community for those who are age 55 and older. Now thanks to his hearing aids, sounds are clearer and more distinct – much sharper than the muddled tones he hears without them. “I didn’t have any expectations, but it’s really great. A marvelous invention,” said Jack. “I like the fact that it has three program settings to get rid of background noise.” Jack never thought his hearing was as bad as it was, even though he knew he had lost an octave on the high end of the keyboard. He didn’t realize how many sounds he was missing, including the turn signal tone in his car that he now can hear. “Hearing aids have definitely improved my hearing,” said Jack. “When I’m not wearing them, I’m edgy that I’m missing something. With them in, I’m confident. They’re a great help.” All American Hearing provides real people like Jack, with real hearing solutions. Jack Tankersley
Jim purchased his hearing aids in July, 2006 after wearing a previous pair for several years. According to Jim, his new hearing aids have made an enormous difference in his life – from turning the TV down and still hearing it, to being able to hear his six grandchildren. His grandchildren used to constantly ask him, “Why can’t you hear?” And Jim used to have to stand near the window to hear the birds singing at his bird feeders, but now the 60-year-old can hear the birds clearly without going to the window. “The best thing about my new hearing aids is being able to understand what people are talking about,” said Jim. “I was missing out and I used to have to ask my wife often, ‘What did he say?’ Now, I don’t have to do that.” Jim likes to golf and loves spending time with his grandchildren. He’s also a board-certified pedorthist, and he builds custom orthodics (arch supports) for a variety of patients, including virtually all of the custom inserts used by Seattle Supersonics players. “My new hearing aids are 100 times better than my old ones. There’s no comparison,” said Jim. “If you’re thinking about getting hearing aids, I’d say ‘Go for it.’ Don’t put it off another day.” All American Hearing provides real people like Jim, with real hearing solutions. Lonnie purchased his hearing aids in March, 2006 and now he doesn’t have to “bother people so much anymore by asking ‘what? … what? … what?’” Now he can hear what he’s been missing and he hears a lot better in restaurants and actually understands what people are saying. The 65-year-old does a lot of deer and turkey hunting, and he uses his hearing aids when he’s out hunting. “Better hearing allows me to enjoy hunting more,” said Lonnie. “Now I can tell where sounds are coming from. It helps a lot.” Now, thanks to his hearing aids, his hearing is better than he thought it could be. And it feels good to hear so well again. He put off getting his hearing checked for a long time on account of being “just stubborn I guess.” “If you’re thinking about getting hearing aids, go ahead and get them,” said Lonnie. “See – or hear – what you’ve been missing. Get the hearing test.” All American Hearing provides real people like Lonnie, with real hearing solutions. Lonnie Moore
Vicky purchased her hearing aids in November, 2004 and although she has worn hearing aids for the past 25 years, the 55-year-old can hear much better with her digital hearing aids than she could in the past. Vicky Sauls |
